Sludge Drying Plant BRS Bioenergie

The dryer plant is designed for a throughput of 7500 tonnes per year dewatered digested sludge from the waste water
treatment plants of Villingen, Schwenningen and Trossingen.
The dryer installed is a belt dryer type with 4 dryer chamber modules.
The thermal drying facility is using the exhaust energy from two CHP gas engines, operated with biogas from the
biowaste-treatment plant.
The dryer is operated in the low temperature range of 130° to max. 145 °C.
Thus a high thermal efficiency is achieved and the dryer operates at a high availability in a safe and dust free atmosphere.
The sludge is dried up to an average humidity of 10 % , crushed and stored in a dry solids storage silo.
The dried material has a significant energy value and is currently used as a fuel substitute in a cement factory.
The dryer installation adheres to strict emission limits for noise, air quality and odour.
